High life
of King Con
A SMOOTH-TALKING financial adviser funded a lavish-lifestyle by conning up to £700,000 from a series of trusting clients. Speedboat owner Dale Kirk - known as Champagne Charlie - lived in a £300,000 Cheshire home, always wore immaculate suits and shirts with cufflinks, drove a top-of-the-range Mercedes, flew first class on holidays to the Bahamas and enjoyed weekends away at holiday homes in Wales.
Jail
for 'champagne' conman
A FINANCIAL
advisor who swindled nearly £700,000 pounds from investors
and squandered it on a millionaire lifestyle was jailed for
four and a half years on Friday. Dale Kirk,
43, who was nicknamed 'Champagne Charlie' by clients, conned
them into parting with their life savings falsely claiming they
would be invested on high interest accounts. Over a five-year
period he spent all the stolen cash on a string of luxuries,
entertained a mistress and was known for living a champagne
lifestyle in some of Cheshire's trendiest bars and restaurants.
